I'm in. Hate to give up on the campaign now that we're making a wee little bit of progress. Or so it seems, anyways.

V it should be. I hope the other dms don't mind the lack of including their adventures in the numbering style.

I wonder if a different day would help anyone? That is, if it's even possible to change the day because it might not be.

As much as I would love to give you a definitive answer... I cant. I am really jonesing to play this campaign again, but work is crazy for me as well. The only time I have large blocks of free time is Saturdays before 5pm, and I can also jump on for intervals tues-fri during the day...I doubt anybody else can play then though :-(

perhaps we should move the campaign to once a month?

I think the every two weeks interval is OK, with the main story going once a month and side quests (guest DMs going once or twice off of that). The only problem is that it does take some idea of the participants to set-up events, like knowing who can definitely make it. Additional opponents can always be added in for the "possibles" or "might be able to".
Regarding those who can more easily play on off nights, I have an idea. Instead of doing guest shots on the Thel Dinge, perhaps some of the characters will leave and embark with Captain Mercill when she sufficiently repairs the Volkin ship. They can have unrelated adventures and occasionally return to Thel Dinge for big events when they're able. I would leave it up to Harkker, but maybe they would rather abandon their seat in the Thane council to return to civilization and/or the life of a privateer? just an idea, something we could possibly grow and shape.

Interesting ideas Oak. Anyone else have an opinion on this or their own take?

Well let me throw this out there... I am not saying we should cancel the campaign or anything. But it feels like asking people to carve out two nights a month is difficult. I know ed and lady star started a new job in which they get up early and kakaderm can only play some sundays. Xalaram disappeared in the middle of a session and hasnt been back. uthganyon like myself has been working all over. Which brings up myself, I have been working 6 days a week now since octobor and it looks like that will continue until June. Wbjoe started a new job and has been working. Really the only consistent one is stingray, and probably Oak. I like this camapign and I have plans for each character and a long standing story arc which is why I set a 5 year limit on the campaign itself. I knew that it was going to be a long time thing.
The only strain I have on a bouncing rotation is that it makes it more difficult to personalize things... Everytime we play I have a general formula that I like to use and I don't mind sharing. I take two to four characters and think of roleplaying situation that suits them. (Someone calling jibb a half breed, malekith's wife and kid, Tyrial's grandfather)I generally have a first half of the night event and a second half of the night for those that are either early or late.
Things in town do not get fixed unless some posts about it or does something in game. If I plan for an event that will have some meaning for a player and that player doesnt show then it sort of leaves a gap.
I am sure that Xalaram's mom being revealed as the winter witch would have had more importance if Xalaram did not have to go right before hand.
As long as there are at least four players there is enough to work with... but when there are but two or three it makes it harder to scale combat wise and plot wise.
Also it should be pointed out that Uthganyons machine is so much better than what we had before and it would be possible to have two dms going at once when we have a cool event in the future.
I am not in anyway complaining at all. I myself and rather busy but I think it would be best instead of playing every two weeks to have kakaderm and uthganyon tell us when they wants to play and then work around that. kakaderm goes out of his way the most to make it.
even if it means we only play once a month... beyond that we can have secondary dms or just pick a dungeon and play it every so often...
so

Something is always better than nothing. If we have to go once a month, that's ok with me.

I am really enjoying this campaign, and I enjoy writing the washups afterward in Rex's diary! Like so many others here, work is what kills my time for it. I can play almost any night of the week MY time, thats the problem I have. According to my calculations, you guys are like 13 hrs behind in time.(Just to add to the fun, I work on Auss's west coast, live on the east coast which is 2hr time difference) This means, for me to sit down to a 7pm game, probably means a 6am one the day before for u guys. Around an 8pm for u guys means about 10am for me. Thats fine, I dont mind that, but it means its gotta be on one of my off days. Usually its a 1 in 3 chance i cant make it when u guys post, but things just got worse, work restructuring here, so theyre going to cut out nightshift. This means, I only have days free during my week off(which is 1 in 3) I am on nightshift now, this will be my last nightshift, but this means I CAN play this one coming(and will!!), next week as well if something is on, cause that'll be my week off. But after that, once every 3 weeks which really sux, although its quite chaotic here at the moment so they might change it again but doubt it. I'd really like to see this campaign continue in whatever fashion we can get it to. The characters(and players) are diverse and interesting as are the plots. So that's the situation I am basically in! edit: on the other side of the coin, have to work it out exactly, but if there was about a 2-3pm game your time, I probably could make that almost any day. It means early morning game for me, but trust me, time means little to me any more after working this routine for a few years.

Congrats on getting off night shift... I know how that can mess you up.. I am going to be going into a shift change at some point in the next two months myself as well... it is very possible that sunday nights may not be an option...or they may be... I have no idea.
this sunday seems good for at least another session, so that would be Rex, Tyrial, Annadoria, Malekith as coming. Assuming you all still want to do that... we will have to keep discussing things...
