Hey everyone I had to get a new modem from Spectrum... so if anyone was trying to get on today it may have been unavailable. Everything seems good to go now, I had to reconfigure all the firewall and networking stuff. Should be better performance, though marginal notice in NWN probably. Otherwise everything is the same (reboot schedule, host name (but not ip#))
If anyone has issues let me know, I will try to login more often the next couple days.

I posted Rex Hunns diary on Beamdog forums with a reference to World of Karador for what its worth, trying to get more onboard. Might be early though, the game isn't even officially released yet.

There was intermittent connection the last few days, sorry if anyone was trying to get on and couldn't. Was hooking the server up to different UPC, and didn't realize the Ethernet cable going into the server got partially pulled out.
In the very near future I am going to have to take it down for possibly several days. The hard drive is starting to throw up S.M.A.R.T alarms and should probably think about replacing it. I am debating building a better server or running it in the background on my current desktop for temporary. Needless to say I will need to back things up and do something with the HDD. I'm thinking possibly this Monday at least getting the NWN stuff backed up.
I am kinda wondering and this would ultimately be up to you guys that have been here for the longest... is it maybe time to find new, able bodied (or at least those with time) caretakers of the server? With NWN:EE coming it would be great to get this server into the hands of motivated people who could restore it to glory. Fixing up the bugs, and getting it on a reliable server platform. Anyone know anybody?

I wouldn't know how to make the change to the enhanced edition. Harkker might and if so, I think he would be the only one unless we find someone outside the current group to help. I might be able to manage the server but I need to know how and all that it entails and do I need a dedicated server computer because I don't currently have one of those. I would need detailed info and what I need and how to do it/maintain it. I should point out that my internet speed is not the best nor anywhere near it. Just good enough to watch Youtube videos without too much trouble except some buffering issues from time to time.
