Yesterday, my computer of about 5 years croaked. Took it to a local computer place and they confirmed the motherboard was pfft. So I'm in the market.
They pitched me a computer they can build - real nice, everything is an upgrade, nice warranty and yearly maintenance plans at competitive price.
2 Questions.....
1) If you had to choose between Windows 8 (with an hour training - part of the deal with the store) or Windows 7, which would you choose? Price will be the same regardless. So far, my experiences with Windows 8 has been horrible. Really hated it. Seemed over complicated for what you wanted to do. (I couldn't even find where to edit email settings - even when I Googled it) But talking with some folks, they said once you get used to it, it's fine. Guy at store also said you don't have to worry about viruses anymore with Win 8. (I like that noise - but am skeptical)
2) Does anyone know if Neverwinter Nights works on a Windows 8 machine?

I love windows 7, I think its every bit what windows XP was and then some. I have only used windows 8 on other peoples machines, but I have started to get the hang of it. Seems like its just as good as 7 just different. I tried running Nwn on my son's tablet pc with win8. Seemed to work ok, but I didnt run it for an extended period of time... I just wanted to see how it worked with a touch screen mostly. (which was pretty good btw, still need a hw keyboard for sure though.)

I know nothing (John Snow) about Windows 8 so I cannot give any useful info.
