Earlier this morning at Fort Branard...

Burblecup was delirious for it's been hours since he saw any living being. The road from Brindelnock was treacherous and his pony was killed in an avalanche. Then he had to outmaneuver a few goblin hunters in Hydel Forest. But he finally made it to Fort Branard. He could hear the watchman's shout of the sighting of his presence as the world around him swirled and he blacked out.
Next thing he knew the Curate, Jason Haldron was standing over him, his eyes were almost glowing as he lifted his hands from him.
He turned to Commander Heladron and said, "He'll be alright, he's just exhausted,"
The Commander approached Burblecup's cot and asked, "I'm glad to see that you'll be fine in no time, but tell me my gnomish friend, what brings you to Fort Brenard in such a condition?"
"It was awful, sirs. There were only 3 of them and a giant spider... but they slaughtered everyone in Brindlenock!"
"What? Everyone? Who slaughtered?" The Commander said with a gasp.
"Yes, sirs, everyone. The 3 men were large, intimidating. Down-right thuggish. They first arrived rather peacefully. There was donned in heavy armor, just kept snorting and bullied his way through the hallways. We seen these types before,it's just wise to keep your distance and they'll leave you alone. But these 3 seemed extra happy about being there. The snorting one kept saying things of how delighted he was to be on a vacation conquering inferior civilizations. At least, that's what it sounded like.
They talked with our merchants for a while and while I hoped they'd just leave, they then settled in at the inn for some rest. Everything seemed normal, but in a few hours, all three of them came out in the center of the inn. I was sitting in the back watching when all of the sudden, one of them just changed before my eyes into a giant ogre and the snorting one waved his arms in the air and a giant spider showed up next to him. Then he screamed at the top of his lungs, 'Prepare your selves, meat, for Ya'Blick wishes to dine on your souls this evening.' Then all of them - and the spider too - just ripped into all the gnomes in the room slaughtering them all. I managed to slip out the door and run out the cave. There was an evilness I never felt before there and feared for my very soul.
Outside, I hid and waited. For what seemed like an eternity I finally witnessed the three exit the city. The spider was not with them. Almost gleefully and laughing as if it were a night out on the town. Snow started falling and I waited until I could hear them no longer and finally felt brave enough to slowly go back in.
Inside was nothing but pure death. Bodies... blood splatterings ... everywhere was just obliteration! I tiptoed my way around the corpses of my brethren and finally made my way to the throne room. All were dead there, including the king and his trusted mage. I fell to my knees weeping, for I have never felt so helpless. Finally I got to my feet and knew I needed to travel here and warn you, the humans, for it was Sir Drake that liberated Brindelnock from the occupation of the Ghost Rider all those years ago... the last thing I heard the snorting one say was, 'Have you guys ever heard of Drakesdale?'
