Faction 1: The Mostrogoni Family of Vampires
The Mostrogoni's were merchants who helped found Lomar. (Lomar was founded by merchants who bought mercenaries and took the land form the orcs)
A powerful wizard, named Hillbender Mostreg, experimented on his family and in his efforts to beat death, turned most of the family into vampires. The family split into two factions. The ones who stayed with the mad wizard and one the ones who founded Irveg.
The Mostrgoni's have multiple human agents who serve them in Lomar itself and they have far more wealth. Unlike most vampires, the Mostrogoni are lawful evil. Mortal members of the family are lawful in alignment. For this reason, the family has their ancestral hall in Irveg, with most of its kin staying out of the kingdom so that laws are not broken.
The most popular Mostrogoni is the Avarian Templar Vito Mostrogoni. A lawful good champion, he walks a fine line between his faith in Avar and his devotion to his family. He holds a holy sword that has within it the spirit of an angel. When members of Vito's family sought to turn him into a vampire, the sword helped him resist, although not fully.
The Mostrogioni have a large family crypt somewhere within Irveg and their agents travel back and forth from there to the kingdom. They are the primary reason why Irveg has not been taken over by the kingdom long ago.
Faction 2: The Church of Vecna
The god of secrets and undead have a temple in Irveg. No one knows all there is to know about the god of secrets and his temple.
Many speculate that the new temple has been built here for the same reason that the vampires dwell here. Within the kingdom of Lomar, the goodly people would not put up with their morbid experiments. They hate those who worship at the Temple of Mancier (God of Knowledge) to the south and the two are at odds, with one constantly trying to bury/uncover the knowledge that the other is sharing.
It was priests of vecna who recently used some secret to aid the king from his recent illness.
Faction 3: The Order of the Skull
Not much is known about the order of the skull and what their goal is... but they are led by a Drow, on the surface of the world, who has turned his back on Lolth. The fewest in number, and least powerful, this group's aims can only be explained by Stingray...
Faction 4: The Master
What can be said about the master that hasn't been said before? One must wonder about what type of person (or is it creature?) that can make dozens of vampires, necromantic priests and the dead themselves, cower before him. Not a creature in Irveg will say the master's name aloud without looking around first. Awe and respect are given to he, who it is said understands death better than the dead themselves.
To the east of Irveg, the grandson of Bahamut (Falx) himself and his two wives, watch toward the west with fear and worry. They make no move, perhaps out of fear, to try and remove the Master of Irveg. Despite this, only his faithful servant Labros has seen his face in the past decade and others who had seen him before say nothing but hushed whispers.
It has been decades since the Master of Irveg came to take the town from the vampires, installing the peasant Labros as his voice piece in the land. It is said that the halls to his personal chambers deep underground are filled with 33 chambers, each with an undead guardian stronger than the last. It is said that his home is proof that hell is cold, as the world gets colder and colder as one descends.
Labros has said that his master has killed tens of thousands in its existence. That he can not hope to understand the intellect that moves the ancient being. It is his strong hand that holds all those who live in Irveg together.
Most shockingly of all, the Master of Irveg has come to the surface in search of something stolen by those who follow chaos. A pixie, taking a celestial vial into hiding, has caused undead to search the lands for the elusive prey. With one word, it is said that he raised all the dead who ever died at fort Branard, to the dismay of the entire church of Avar. Despite this, still none have seen the Lord of Irveg.
Faction 5: Witchwood Druids
The evil druids from the territory to the north living in their huge tree (only accessible from the Witchwood) .
