It seems people are having a royal fit over dying in purgatory. At low levels they are dying many times and losing an ever increasing amount of XP with no fair way of getting out until their alignment drops to evil in which they go to hell and try and solve the riddle there. I'm hearing complaints about this and if I was dying there at low levels, I'd probably be complaining myself so...
Maybe we should change it so you have to solve a riddle as well or at least provide the players with some useful items so they have a chance of fighting their way out.
I would like to hear opinions on this from everyone. Thanks.

Well, I used to die a lot more in purgatory when I first came to Karador, back then it had no further penalty for dying in purgatory trying to kill that damn heretic, since then I haven't been dying so much with neutral low-level character and actually didn't notice this myself but when it happened to PsionMage today I really felt for him. I don't think it's fair and most of all it is not fun. Challenge is a good thing, but this is just punishing you for the alignment you took.

Good points... I would guess from the new perspective since you no longer lose a third of your xp that is seems harsher. It was not intended at all...
I have a plan for making 9 hells one for each alignment, but that is a much further down the road project...
I will try to change the scripting so that deaths in the after life will not increase your death count... if anyone has done this... I want to think of a remedy to fix this

Ok it looks like I am smarter than I thought.... If you die in the afterlife your death count does not go up... so there is no further loss of xp from it
if((sZoneTag != "Heaven") || (sZoneTag != "Hell") || (sZoneTag != "Purgatory")) {SetCampaignInt(sName,"deathcounter", ideathcount +1, xPC); }

Doh in testing || means or so if you the logic one of the if statements will always be false it should instead be != does not equal && which means and

What I am going to do to fix this is make a statue in homeland that if you are neutral in alignment it will wipe o0ut your total death count I will keep it there for 2 weeks... but give me a few days to test the fix and make sure that I am on the right track.
Good catch it has probably been that way for 6 months
