If your character's clothes appear chrome and recoloring in-game doesn't have any effect, you should look for any files like the ones listed below and remove them from your override folder.
pal_cloth01.tga
pal_leath01.tga
pal means palette and cloth and leath are cloth and leather respectively.
This means and pal files with the words cloth, leather or metal are changing the colors for whatever images they are linked to, such as spell scroll icons. The colors added might not be compatible with the colors used on the Karador server.
