I'm just bummed because there should be more of us like Ragnar, any of the ones I sent e-mails out to that have played on Karador either briefly or a bit longer, and possibly new people who can't get on if they wanted because the HAK link is probably still not up yet. I like it when new people try the server out.
And I've been really tired of late too. That's why I haven't been working on any projects on here. At least for now.

Well, rest up and get refreshed; then you can do as I did for Loo and put the HAK on we-transfer for Ragnar. It takes a little bit (20 minutes or so to upload on my DSL) but then it will send a link to Ragnar or whoever for them to download. I'm sure in time the HAK will be up permanently. Looks like Harkker is really busy lately, but have patience. Sorry I don't know how to establish a permanent link on we-transfer, or even make one that's open to the public. Maybe if I poke around some more I can figure it out.

I think Ragnar has the HAK. It's a matter of always having to tell him what's going on rather than just finding out from the forums. He's either too busy to get on, too tired, not as interested or all 3.

A shame, I rather enjoy when Ragnar plays. Hopefully you can convince him to pop on at least once in a while to read the news. Being busy at times hits us all; gods know I disappear occasionally. I'd like to center events around other characters, Ragnar included, but it's hard to do when they're not quite regular or at the very least let us know when they will be in game... Maybe we'll think of something.

He wants to play Saturday nights and I get it but even then, this time of the year, I may have trouble getting on then but it could allow an earlier start time when it works. Maybe this could be a non-DM night thing only tomorrow is my monthly board game night and I will talk to him about it when I see him.
And on an unrelated note....the picture I have in my profile slot is of my character who currently holds the highest XP out of all of them.

Ha I will be there... I am making some promised changes to the mod for oak and should have the server up in an hour.... assuming those changes work otherwise it will be taken down and the put up and in another hour.

Saturday nights are great for non-DMed adventures. The one a few weeks ago (although that was a Sunday) was a hoot! Loo might even be able to make some Saturdays, its just easier on Harkker and myself to DM on Sundays (retail life is a birch)

I don't know if the server crashed last night, but I experienced several laggy moments and the last one lasted a couple of minutes then I got booted. I wasn't sure if it was a boot or crash, but it was late and the lag was extreme, so I just went to bed. Was it a crash?

The vortexes summon slaad if they percieve a pc. well each slaad can summon a slaad. each new creature that appears before the vortex causes it to check for a pc. if there is a pc then it will summon a new slaad. who will in turn summon a new slaad which will make the vortex summon a new slaad. which will cause the vortex to check for a pc. which will cause the vortex to summon a new slaad.
each time a new creature is introduced, every creature runs a new script for percieving other creatures. they also have to do path finding for the way they want to travel to the pcs.
as such the lag was caused by an infinite but steady amount of slaad being made up until the point stingray figured out how to use the rod. it booted everyone until it had a chance to settle down. sort of a poor script design and could have been fixed by taking away the summon spawn ability...

Well, Drakesdale is finally free of the Vortexes so it won't happen again. Regardless, great work on the set-up Harkk. Sir Drake is back and Jamulan was spotted; it's like all that was old is new again. Fantastic night! Thanks everyone.
We'll get some recaps and maybe even a transcript posted so everyone can read up on all that transpired. A few loose ends were tied up; and some on-going plots were reviewed at the end of the night.
Harkker is up in two weeks. Let's see what happens next in Lomar (or beyond).
