The cronicles of Jibblette part 4
Jibblette falls into her bed with a sigh, it was an epic day to say the least. Tomarrow will prove to be busy as well along with every day to come stationed at the Thel Dinge. She wanted an adventure and boy did she get one. Her head spins and sleep dosen't come as quick as her tired mind thought it would. She tosses and turns when she finally falls into her slumber she is tormented by nightmares that wake her and leave her in a cold sweat. This is more than an adventure, this is survival at its most brutal. The realization that she could die out here sinks in. This is not just a casual hunt in the Horlins forest, This is a real life night terror. She shudders at the thought. Pulling on her boots and grabbing her bow she slips out of the warm house and leaves the walls that were made safe by her and her siblings.
She thinks of them as she makes the long walk to the woods next to the Dinge. She will hunt. Every free moment she has not helping her siblings she will hunt an forge for the much needed food. She will put her heart into it. Jibblette has never had a family before, or much of a purpose in life. She embraces this new opportunity for a sense of belonging. She is optimistic her much practiced forest skills are the best way to help her siblings. As she journeys towards the grove of trees certain to contain her pray her thoughts wander and she thinks of them. All different walks of life they are from, yet all gathered here for the same reason. The mysterious man clothed in black and those glowing red eyes that appear and make him a bit stand offish, but when his eyes are normal he is indeed a strong man of many skills that will help than all. Tsaroth equally mysterious, powerful and unimpressed about matters of wealth seemingly very in touch with the nature that surrounds them, a brother any half elf ranger would be proud to have. Xalaram a quiet man of few words, but a wonderful ranger. Yolo, she laughs to herself, he sure can sing, his songs seem to empower the siblings and bring a light heartedness they all need. It is clear he is playful and has spent a great deal of his life indulging in the dragon and drink, but who can blame him? Surely his life has been a hard one. That seems to be the common denominator aside from the Thane himself. The Thane, her savior... yet what of her dear brother Rex? Kind and to the point he is! The half ork like herself seems to be a misfit. So sad to think the Thane would abandon this strong useful being...There she was adventuring and a family generates into her life. Jibblette impressed by each and every one of her new found "brothers" Than just yesterday Jibblette is pleased and surprised when out of nowhere a sister comes to the Dinge! In tow bearing breeding oxes, seeds, and so many books. She says her name is Annadora. A young and ever so wise human. Her skin is pale, but she is far from frail. She speaks elvish taking Jibblette back to a vauge shimmer of the past.. one she just can't seem to remember just feel. Annadora is breath of fresh air bringing a cloud of good wherever she goes. A sister that seems to like her. Jibblette had grown used to people pushing her away, it seems as if this human is unoffended at the elf blood that courses through Jibblettes veins.
Her thoughts are cut short! She snaps back to reality. She has daydreamed her self all the way to the forest. she sees movement. Taking a deep breath to steady her hand she pulls back the arrow. Focus..... aim.... fire... A perfect shot! The first of what Jibblete hopes is many deer fall to the ground with a loud thud. Her heart pounds. This is what she was born to do! She quickly processes her kill. She will hunt her heart out. First time being part of a family, the stakes are high. Jibblette must prove her worth. Clearly her tie to them is the Compassion of the Late Thane willing to call her "daughter" She was nothing but a disapointment to her human mother and father all these years. She fears perhaps in her new family it will be more of the same. Her heart is heavy..... "Now is not the time for these thoughts" she tells herself. " you must hunt now, there will be time for feeling sorry for ones self later" Focused she continues onwards journeying deeper into the forest, hopeful to find a bounty of much needed game.
